We were lucky to find these “antique” all lithographed tin, wind-up butterflies on our last trip to Europe. They were made in China about 50 years ago. You can tell by the colorful but pale tin lithography. When you wind it up and let it go, it moves forward, flapping its wings, and then does a somersault, and repeats the motions. Very, very cool mechanical toy the likes of which are no longer made. We bought all that were left in existence, and that number isn’t huge, so you’d better hurry! A truly delightful and strong toy. Complete with key and original box. 7 ½” x 3 ¼” (not suitable for kids under 14).
